Nairobi
Wildlife, food, culture and business energy in East Africa’s connected capital.
Welcome to Nairobi
Nairobi is more than a safari stopover. Kenya’s fast-moving capital pairs a creative food and arts scene with leafy neighbourhoods, important history and a national park on the city edge. Start at sunrise among rhino and giraffe, spend the afternoon with conservation projects or galleries, then finish over contemporary Kenyan cuisine.
Use Nairobi as a two-to-four-night city break, a comfortable arrival base, or the first chapter of a wider journey to the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Mount Kenya, the coast and neighbouring East African capitals.
Modern Nairobi, locally livedChoose the city experience that fits you
Neighbourhood choice shapes your visit. Stay near wildlife and museums in Karen, restaurants and nightlife in Westlands, business hubs in Gigiri, or cafés and apartment stays around Kilimani.

Practical Nairobi
Getting around
Pre-book airport and late-night transfers. Traffic can be heavy at peak hours, so keep generous connection time between JKIA, Wilson and the city.
Comfort & safety
Use vetted transport, keep valuables discreet and confirm pickup details. M-Talii trips keep bookings and support contacts together.
What to pack
Layers for cool mornings, sun protection, closed shoes for park visits and a light rain layer in March–May or October–December.
Eat local
Try nyama choma, Kenyan coffee, coastal Swahili dishes and Nairobi’s modern African dining scene. Ask about dietary requirements when booking.
Nairobi questions, answered
Is Nairobi worth more than a stopover?
Yes. Two to four nights lets you do the national park, the Karen museums, the food scene and at least one conservation or cultural visit without rushing any of it.
Can I see wildlife without leaving the city?
Nairobi National Park sits on the city boundary and holds rhino, lion, giraffe, buffalo and plentiful plains game. A sunrise drive is the standard way to do it.
How long from the airport to the city?
Anything from thirty minutes to well over an hour depending on traffic. The expressway makes the difference at peak times.
