Drive up through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru, famous for its shimmering pink flamingos and as one of Kenya's best rhino sanctuaries. Expect white and black rhino, buffalo, waterbuck and the endangered Rothschild giraffe.
An early start, with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint on the way.
Game drive around the lake for rhino, Rothschild giraffe, buffalo and birdlife, with a picnic lunch and the view from Baboon Cliff.
Leave the park mid-afternoon to be back in Nairobi by early evening.
Pickup in Nairobi is around 6:30 and you are back by about 18:00. The drive to Nakuru takes about three hours each way.
Numbers vary a lot with water levels. Since the lake rose in recent years there are far fewer flamingos than there once were, but the park remains one of the best places in Kenya to see black and white rhino.
No. Lake Nakuru National Park fees are charged per person by Kenya Wildlife Service and are shown separately before you pay.
